Primordia, by Wormwood Studios

It’s just three guys, on different continents, screwing around with making games. There isn’t an organizational chart or even a wall on which we could hang it.

Mark Yohalem describing Wormwood Studios in an interview with CSH Picone

Primordia is a point and click adventure game, developed by Wormwood Studios and published in 2012 by Wadjet Eye Games.

The game centers on a robot, Horatio Nullbuilt, and his companion Crispin, and is set in a post-humanity world littered with machinery.

Developed using AGS. According to one user,

“It’s a crime this doesn’t have any AGS awards. Seriously. A crime.”

Features lead voice acting by Logan Cunningham; a familiar sound to many.

Pulls a 72 metascore on Metacritic. Significantly more positive reviews from users. Praised for the story and puzzles. Dinged for predictability and alleged issues with usability.

Often compared with other games published by Wadjet Eye Games; Gemini Rue, Resonance. Or even earlier sci-fi point and click games like Beneath a Steel Sky.

Games released around the same time; Far Cry 3, Mark of the Ninja, Dishonored, Borderlands 2.
